Foyn Kini Joseph, born in 1973 into the sacred Kom Royal Lineage, is a son of Nafoyn Kom and a custodian shaped from childhood by the values, discipline, and ancestral responsibilities of the Kom throne.
He began his education at C.S. Sho‑kom, later continuing at St. Bede’s College, Ashing‑kom, where he completed his GCE Ordinary Level. After school, he embraced a life of service and hard work as a professional driver — serving at Ndawara Tea Estate, and later as private driver to two respected Kom figures: Prince Yibain Emmanuel Ngam and Bobe Johnson Nkwain. He also worked in public transportation, earning a reputation for humility, reliability, and community-centered living.
His path toward deeper traditional responsibility began in 2017, when his elder brother, Foyn Clement Ndzi II, ascended the throne as the 15th Fon of Kom. In recognition of his discipline and loyalty, he appointed Bobe Kini Joseph to the Fuli Royal Compound as Bo Fuli, the Village Head of Fuli. For nine years, he served with dignity, guiding the community and upholding the customs of the Fondom.
A historic transition occurred in July 2026. Following the traditional disappearance of Fon Clement Ndzi II on Sunday, 19 July 2026, the Kom Kingdom entered a period of mourning and sacred rites, as is customary in Kom tradition.
Kwifoyn, the sacred governing council, initiated the royal transition process in accordance with ancestral law. On Wednesday, 22 July 2026, Bobe Kini Joseph was crowned as the Paramount Foyn of Kom, becoming the 16th custodian of a throne whose lineage stretches back nearly three centuries.
His ascension marks a new chapter for Kom — one rooted in continuity, cultural preservation, and unity. As the new Fon, Foyn Kini Joseph inherits not only the authority of the throne but also the responsibility to uphold the legacy of his predecessors, including the modernization efforts and cultural strengthening championed by Fon Clement Ndzi II.
