Summer music bootcamps for young people, plus the Educational Support Grant scholarship we fund together.

WAPPCAM — Women in Art for the Protection of the Planet, Cameroon — is BotangRecords' anchor partner on the continent: a guiding light in music and talent development for kids and youth in Bafoussam, run under the banner "Igniting Young Stars." Together, we run exclusive summer music bootcamps each July and August, giving young Cameroonian artists access to mentorship, instruments, and a platform for visual arts and performance, alongside environmental education. WAPPCAM is also the channel through which BotangRecords awards direct scholarship support to young artists in Cameroon — proof that this mission runs in both directions across the Atlantic, not just from America outward.

One Tikar One People

Festival partnership, including the Children's Village that introduced the next generation to African culture and helped the 2025 festival reach record attendance.

One Tikar One People celebrates African heritage, strengthens community bonds, and empowers the next generation through cultural education — and organizes the annual Minnesota African Cultural Festival, one of the largest African diaspora gatherings in the country. Since 2024, BotangRecords has grown from an early consultation partner into a core creative partner: producing a theme song and youth ambassador video for the organization, and leading the festival's Children & Youth Cultural Village every year since. One Tikar One People has credited that Village with helping the festival reach the highest attendance in its history.

Minnesota Africans United

Joint community programming and our featured cultural showcase on the Cosgrove Stage at the Minnesota State Fair.

Minnesota Africans United (MAU) is dedicated to empowering African immigrant communities across Minnesota through economic development, digital literacy, and cultural engagement. Our partnership spans entrepreneurship education, digital-skills training for youth, and — most visibly — BotangRecords' featured cultural showcase on the Cosgrove Stage at the Minnesota State Fair, the largest public stage in the state. MAU has called BotangRecords' involvement a reflection of shared values: a deep commitment to the dignity and long-term flourishing of African communities in Minnesota.

Otsego, Minnesota

VET-Star Club MN

Participating team and host club of the 2024 National Veterans Tournament at the National Soccer Center in Blaine, MN. BotangRecords joined fellow Minnesota artists to produce the tournament theme song, NDAMBA; organized the opening ceremony's live traditional dance performance; and, on finals day, brought NDAMBA live to the halftime show.

VET-Star Club is a Minnesota nonprofit built around community wellness, unity and youth development through soccer, with membership made up predominantly of young people from Cameroon and the broader African diaspora. Our collaboration on cultural activities began before BotangRecords was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in December 2023, with BotangRecords staging cultural performances at VET-Star events and giving young people far from home a connection to Cameroonian heritage alongside the sport itself.

The partnership's biggest stage came over Labor Day weekend 2024, when VET-Star served as host club for the National Veterans Tournament at the National Soccer Center in Blaine, Minnesota. The NVT reports the tournament drew about 15,000 participants and more than 40 teams. BotangRecords joined Grand Katika, Juicejulius, Djara and other Minnesota artists to produce NDAMBA, the tournament's official theme song. At the opening ceremony in the National Soccer Center's main stadium, BotangRecords organized the performance that launched the tournament: live traditional dances showcasing and celebrating Cameroonian and African cultures, before more than 3,000 people, including city dignitaries. On the third day, at the tournament finals, BotangRecords joined the halftime show, where NDAMBA was performed live for all spectators.

Afoakom USA

Cultural programming partner at the annual Komvention, most recently hosted in Minnesota — home to BotangRecords' base.

Afoakom USA is the national organization uniting the Kom community across America, with chapters spanning Minneapolis, Dallas, Houston, New York, Arizona, and beyond. BotangRecords serves as a major cultural programming partner at Afoakom USA's annual Komvention — most recently leading the Ndo Chiehsi welcome ceremony and Cultural Night at Komvention 2026 in Minnesota. Where Afoakom USA builds the national home for Kom people in America, BotangRecords brings the cultural programming that makes each gathering unforgettable.

Dastardly Records is a Minneapolis-based studio led by CEO and co-founder Bryan Steenerson. In an exclusive interview, BotangRecords and Steenerson announced a strategic partnership aimed at serving local groups, artists, and communities across recording, podcasting, and every facet of music production — a partnership both sides described as one that will change the musical journey for many young artists. Unlike BotangRecords' cultural-programming and festival partners, Dastardly Records represents production infrastructure right in BotangRecords' home city, giving Minnesota-based artists access to professional recording and podcast capabilities without having to leave the Twin Cities.
